Jessie Moss is a 27 year old mother, teacher, musician, sometimes writer and passionate runner who lives mostly in Newtown, Wellington with her partner Mara and their 2 year old daughter Kaahuia.
Jessie grew up in Christchurch in a mud brick house built by the family. It was surrounded by paddocks, a rarity in the suburb of Burwood. She grew up along the Avon River with left wing politics, a classical music education, a great record collection, and good cooking from a wonderful vegetable garden. Moving to Wellington as an 18 year old blew her mind and expanded her horizons. Anarchist politics, feminism, and most of all a real sense of community, and being a part of something greater than ones self, had it sold!
Nearly a decade later, many friends and connections created, hundreds of running paths cut in the hills, one honours degree in Gender and Woman’s studies, two studio albums, one daughter, three established vegetable gardens, one diploma of teaching and endless opportunities abound – Jessie remains happy and active in Wellington.
